The listening room
Five stories.
Five sounds.
A printer that won’t cooperate. A light left on for someone. A small room with a big idea. Find the feeling for your occasion.
Final Final
Indie disco / funk-pop
Playback is unavailable. Try reloading this page.
Turn the office printer and the never-ending “final” file into a playful song about a creative team getting the job done.
Behind the demo
The idea
An end-of-project party for a small design studio. The brief centred on a sprawling revision cycle: files named final-final, a stubborn printer and the moment approval finally arrived. The humour is affectionate, with the team’s shared experience at its centre.
The musical direction
The direction was hook-first indie disco: a springy bass line, clipped rhythm guitar, brass accents and a conversational lead. The aim was a playful chorus that could open a studio party or a company album.

You Left the Light On
Contemporary soul / R&B

Thank the people who make a place feel welcoming: the small acts of care at the start and end of a busy shift.
Behind the demo
The idea
A staff-appreciation dinner after a busy restaurant opening season. The brief recognised the kitchen, hosts, cleaners and floor team through small acts of care: a meal kept warm, an upside-down apron and chairs carried together at closing.
The musical direction
Warm contemporary soul was the starting point, with piano, rounded bass and an intimate lead growing into a generous chorus. The feeling was gratitude without a formal awards-speech tone.

Small Room, Big Noise
Alternative pop-rock
Playback is unavailable. Try reloading this page.
Celebrate a small team taking an idea from a crowded room to launch day, keeping the scrappy beginning in the story.
Behind the demo
The idea
A small hardware team reaching its first major launch after years of prototypes. A folding table, borrowed tools and the first successful note supplied the brief’s concrete details. The song’s job was to bring energy to a team walk-on.
The musical direction
The direction was melodic alternative pop-rock, with a short guitar pickup, an urgent verse and a wide, energetic chorus. The contrast between a modest beginning and a bigger moment shaped the idea.

Same Sky, Different Time
UK garage / electronic pop

Bring a team across time zones into one song, from familiar voices on calls to the prospect of being together.
Behind the demo
The idea
The first in-person retreat for a remote animation team spread across four time zones. The brief paired everyday contrasts—a kettle boiling while someone else watches the sunset—with the feeling of finally hearing a familiar laugh without a lag.
The musical direction
Bright UK garage and electronic pop set the direction: a skipping rhythm, warm bass and a melodic chorus about belonging across distance. The intended setting was a shared reveal at the retreat dinner.

Still Got a Spark
Weathered folk-rock

Give a long-serving workshop teammate a warm send-off, celebrating the habits, humour and know-how they leave with the team.
Behind the demo
The idea
A retirement send-off for two founding craftspeople at a joinery workshop. The brief used sawdust on a jacket, cold tea, an old radio and the next generation at the bench. It aimed for warmth and a little irreverence, with experience celebrated rather than age made into a joke.
The musical direction
Weathered folk-rock was the direction, with acoustic and gentle electric guitar, an unhurried groove and a grounded vocal character. The chorus was intended as something colleagues could share.
